This important travel account is by the Flemish priest Jean Zuallart. In 1580 he became tutor to the sons of Baron Richard de Mérode and he accompanied Philippe de Mérode to the Holy Land in 1586. His text is of importance for Cyprus because he visited the island just 16 years after its conquest by the Ottomans, on his way to the Holy Land.
