Arcipelago Con tutte le Isole…

Περιγραφή

Boschini was a Venetian art critic, painter and engraver probably best known during his lifetime for his guide to the city, his guides to works of art, and for his biographical work on Venetian artists. Boschini was already known for his work on Crete. The Arcipelago is his last work in the form of an isolario. The maps are based on prototypes mostly by Bartolommeo, and the work follows Buondelmonti’s original typology: almost all the islands of the Aegean are illustrated, accompanied by brief descriptions.
