Geographiae Libri Octo...
First dual-language edition of Ptolemy’s Geographia, edited by Petrus Montanus. This is also the first book in Greek to be printed at Amsterdam, and Koeman refers to it as a ‘typographic masterpiece’. Hondius’ preface contains an account of the origin of this edition, the third with Mercator’s plates, which had been bought from the Mercator heirs by Hondius himself in 1604. Petrus Bertius acted as a general adviser to the work.
