Description

Moryson travelled in Europe and the Near East from 1588 to 1598, reaching the Levant in the mid-1590s. He stayed with the British ambassador Edward Barton in Constantinople and he visited Cyprus in May 1596, spending a week on the island. On his return to England he was appointed secretary to Sir Charles Blount, Lord Deputy of Ireland.
