Beaudouin was a member of the French School of Archaeology in Athens in 1876. He visited Cyprus in 1878, at the end of a period of excavations beginning with the 1862 mission of Melchior de Vogüé and William Waddington. The antiquities found during these excavations assisted Beaudouin in his research into the Cypriot dialect. His work includes a glossary of Greek words and of Cypriot terms.
