The Sylvia Ioannou Foundation participated in the exhibition that took place on the occasion of the inauguration of the Ioannis Makriyannis Wing of the Gennadius Library - American School of Classical Studies in Athens.

The exhibition centred on 24 watercolours from the Gennadius Library’s collection that were conceptualised and commissioned by Makriyannis and painted by Panagiotis and Dimitrios Zographos, as well as on other archives relating to the life of General Makriyannis and personal items of his on loan from other collections, including the Collection of the Sylvia Ioannou Foundation, from which Benjamin Mary’s album – containing a portrait of Makriyannis – was displayed in a special case.
