The exhibition entitled «200 χρόνια χάρτης του Lapie - Ο πρώτος μεγάλος χάρτης της Επαναστατικής περιόδου 1821-1829» is held at the Central Library of Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (AUTH) from 23 June until 15 November 2022. Free entrance, open on working days and office hours (contact: +30 2310 995325; Ms Angeliki Hatzigeorgiou).

The exhibition is organised by the Laboratory of Cartography & Geographical Analysis (CartoGeoLab AUTH) and the Library and Information Centre AUTH, with the kind collaboration and contribution of the Sylvia Ioannou Foundation and the kind support of Consulate General of France and the French Institute of Thessaloniki.

The map of the French cartographer Pierre Lapie belongs to the Collection of Sylvia Ioannou Foundation (M.0402) and the high-resolution digital copy of this map is implemented for the exhibition by the CartoGeoLab AUTH.

Opening of the exhibition

The opening of the exhibition, which took place on 23 June 2022 at the Central Library AUTH, was attended by Nikolaos G. Papaioannou, Rector of AUTH, Sandrine Mouchet, Consul General of France and Director of French Institute of Thessaloniki, Haralambos Feidas, Vice Rector for Finance, Planning & Development of AUTH, Aimilios Mavroudis, President of the Library Committee AUTH, Angeliki Hatzigeorgiou, Director of the Central Library AUTH, Chrysoula Boutoura, Director of the CartoGeoLab AUTH and Angeliki Tsorlini, curator of the exhibition.
